Get to Know The Team
Peter first entered the Construction arena as Site Office support on a large Retirement Homes project, which was being project managed by a family friend. After this project was completed he decided that warmer climates beckoned within the industry, so he entered an office environment as a Trainee Buyer. This was over 25 years ago and though unknown at the time this was to be the first step into a career path that was to be both stimulating and varied.
Day release study and via a few company moves he progressed his career to that of Purchasing Manager for a National Contractor. After operating for many years in Procurement, he was approached by a former Managing Director to join him in setting up and running a contracting company, which he decided to do. The venture was very successful for circa 5 years until the recession hit in 2008, resulting in the company closing.
So in 2009, with a slight change of career direction, he joined the Construction Recruitment industry with Edge Partners, which has led to an exciting journey of opportunity. The result of which is Peter now oversees operations working closely with the divisional teams to ensure all engagements with the newly branded Edge Careers are dealt with in a positive and correct manner.

Vanessa, after completing Drama School, spent a short time in the IT industry, but realising she liked human contact, she took an initial interim role in a Construction Recruitment company and has never looked back. She then spent a number of years working at Hill Mc Glynn, rising to establish their Search arm, Corporate Solutions. She then established her own Consultancy, Edge Partners, in 2002 which now trades as Edge Careers. Since 2005 she has mainly concentrated on Executive Recruitment and still works in a “hands on” capacity in this and leading the Permanent division.

Three famous people, living or dead, who you would invite to a dinner party: Marie Chantal of Greece, Kim Raver & Dee Ocleppo Heidi was one of the first employees with Edge Careers, joining the business in 2002 as an Executive Researcher providing research support to the Senior Executive Team. As the business grew, she moved into consultancy and has worked in the residential recruitment market for over 10 years and benefited from recruiting across all housing disciplines, providing recruitment solutions for candidates and clients alike.

This is immediately apparent in the great progression he has made as a result of hard work, starting as a trainee in 2016, to being promoted to a Senior Recruiter in 2018 and then Regional Manager - North West in 2019.

Most influential person: Alan Sugar
Three famous people, living or dead, who you would invite to a dinner party: Alan Sugar, Alex Ferguson & Nelson MandelaAndy graduated from Leeds Poly in 1984 with a degree in Economics and Politics. Most of his early career was in sales and marketing, which included selling donuts on a French beach, type writer ribbons to bored American secretaries in California and escorting coaches of screaming holidaymakers to Spain. When the money and visa ran out it was time to get serious and he spent 5 years in London, in the late 80’s, close shave with a UK ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ outfit.
Andy spent some time with a publishing company in Chelsea and moved back to the Midlands in 1992 to work in marketing. Andy Joined Edge in 2002, having been inspired by the opportunity to be part of a new business. There have been a few ups and downs along the way, but he takes great pride in playing a small part in changing people’s lives.

Three famous people, living or dead, who you would invite to a dinner party: George Best, Mohammed Ali & JFKFrom playing sports at a young age, Fabio went on to study Sports Science at College, and later followed this up with a degree in Law. Fabio then decided to make the next logical step in his career and become a Recruitment Consultant. Fabio is truly passionate about the fundamentals of recruitment – from spotting talent, to match making, negotiation and in the end, placing the right candidate in the right role with the right business. Fabio is relatively new to the recruitment world, but his passion and determination for the industry will help him excel in his role and become an integral member of the Edge Careers team.

Billy works for Edge Careers out of the Midlands Office where he heads up the Trades & Labour Team. He has 9 years’ experience running a Trades & Labour desk and strongly believes in ‘Building relationships that will last’ this is something he values. Billy and his team will always try to make sure they provide the very best service so they can continue to get repeat business with you, they are not here to win work on just that ‘One Project’ or on that ‘One Role’ but to continue developing with you as you grow. Lyn produces comprehensive management accounts showing key performance indicators to enable the directors to make decisions that drive the business forward.

Followed by a fantastic opportunity to work directly for Dwyer Group (the Franchisor). Dwyer (UK franchising) Ltd started in the UK in 2012 with Tracey holding the role of Executive Assistant, carrying out many varied roles to keep the office running smoothly. With this wealth of experience, Tracey is a huge asset to the Edge Careers business.

Having worked mostly in administration, she has also worked in customer service and invoicing roles, giving an insight into how these are linked within a company. Although she took a brief break to travel, she returned to a customer service and administrative role with a renowned awarding body, before joining Edge Careers in her current role.
