Role Overview
Our client is a Residential Groundworks Contractor, primarily involved in infrastructure civils, earthworks, and plot groundworks.
This opportunity offers hybrid working, with an expectation that the successful candidate will be based within a commutable distance of Cambridge. The working week will be split between home working, site visits, and office attendance.
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take full ownership of the commercial management of groundwork projects across the Eastern Counties region. From procurement through to final account, you will ensure projects deliver value without compromising on quality or compliance.
We are seeking candidates with a proven background in commercial management, negotiation, and reporting. Previous experience in groundworks, with exposure to residential projects, is highly desirable.
A proactive mindset and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Manage cash flow and commercial reporting (CVRs).
Oversee subcontractor procurement and performance.
Control project costs, budgets, and variations.
Ensure contractual and commercial compliance.
Attend regular site visits and liaise with project teams.
Requirements
Strong background in commercial management, negotiation, and reporting.
Proven groundworks experience (residential experience desirable).
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Full UK Driving Licence and valid CSCS card.
