Our Residential Divisional Manager, Heidi Genner, has gained the support of none other than TV legend Bradley Walsh. There is no doubt that with this entrant Heidi is firmly in the lead of the competition and well on the way to getting the winning money for her charity, the Make A Wish Foundation, to whom Bradley Walsh is an ambassador.

Bradley, widely known for presenting The Chase and also for his role in Coronation Street,  first appeared on our screens in 1994 when he became part of the presenting team on the national lottery.  Following on from this, Bradley became the host of game show Midas touch and also the British adaptation of Wheel of Fortune.

He then moved onto acting, which saw Bradley take on roles in the popular film Mike Bassett: England Manager and also appearing in 269 episodes of Coronation Street.

Moving back to presenting in 2007, Bradley Walsh now adorns our screens every day at 5pm  hosting the hit television quiz show The Chase on ITV1.

Wolves Legend, Robbie Dennison, Enters Edge Careers Charity Celebrity Challenge

Robbie Dennison is the latest celebrity to take part in the Edge Careers Charity Celebrity Challenge, rather fittingly following on from football commentating god, John Motson.

Robbie had a long and successful footballing career where he was often deployed on the wing. He started his professional career in 1985 with West Bromwhich Albion, joining on a two year deal. He most notably came to prominence when he signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 1987, quickly establishing himself as a first team player and he was instrumental in the club’s back to back promotions. Robbie represented his home nation of Northern Ireland on 18 occasions, from 1988 to 1997.

Since hanging up his boots in 1999, Robbie runs his own successful trophy business, Robbie Dennison Trophies, based in the West Midlands riverside town of Stourport-on-Severn.

Legendary football commentator John Motson, also known as Motty and for his big sheep skin coat, has commentated on over 1,500 games on television and radio, including covering all the major football championships: World Cups, FA Cups, and European Championships.

In 2008, Motty announced his retirement from live television commentary. The Euro 2008 final was his last live television broadcast. He has continued since then to cover games for Match of the Day  and appeared on BBC Radio 5 Live, as well as releasing his own book, Motty: Forty Years in the Commentary Box

As well as commentating, John has also been on the big screen in films, such as Bend it like Beckham and provided the voice of a character in Flushed away.

Meg Oxtoby is the Latest to Wear the Edge Careers #HowFamousAmI T-shirt
Meg Oxtoby - Edge Careers Celebrity Challenge

Meg Oxtoby, the star and eventual winner of BBC 3’s terrifying reality TV show, I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse, is the latest to take part in the much coveted Edge Careers Celebrity Challenge. Meg Oxtoby came out of the show as one of four brave civilians to survive the zombie infested landscape and proved to be an entertaining and very likable character in the show hosted by Radio 1’s Greg James.

As well as winning I Survived a Zombie Apocalypse, Meg is an up and coming actress and has appeared in a number of BBC productions, including BBC 1’s Doctors.

Meg Oxtoby is also an online hit, already amassing over 2 million views on her videos and has close to 9,000 loyal subscribers on her YouTube channel. Her most popular video being the Coke and Milk challenge which went viral in 2012 and has earned her in excess of 700,000 views alone.

With so many exciting steps already achieved at such a young age, the future looks bright for Meg. All of the team at Edge Careers would like to wish Meg all the best for her future endeavours and thank her for taking part in the Edge Careers Celebrity Challenge.

Desmond Douglas MBE #HowFamousAmI

Desmond Douglas MBE becomes the latest celebrity to wear the Edge Careers #HowFamousAmI competition t-shirt.

Desmond Douglas is a British table tennis player, who became an 11 time English Table Tennis Champion. At his peak he was rated world number 7 and European number 3, being most notably known for his scissor jump smash, and for his use of pips-out block on the backhand side, mixing pace with powerful topspin from his forehand side.

In 1987 Desmond Douglas was awarded an MBE for his contribution to sport, a year later Desmond represented Great Britain at the Seoul Olympics, in both the singles and doubles table tennis competitions.

Desmond is still actively involved in table tennis, coaching throughout the country, including training some of the top young British prospects at the Youth Development Squad.

With the #HowFamousAmI celebrity competition underway, Edge Careers employees are trying to get celebrities to wear the competition t-shirt, with the winning member of the team being able to pick the charity that Edge Careers will donate £1,000 to. Patrick Monahan Is The First To Wear The Celebrity T-Shirt

The Edge Careers celebrity competition has had its first contender, Stuart Smith our Permanent Principal Consultant has managed to get Patrick Monahan to wear the #HowFamousAmI t-shirt.

Patrick Monahan is a stand-up comedian who has performed over 10 times at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. He has also won the television competition series Take the Mike in 2001 and Show Me the Funny in 2011.

Patrick has taken part in a number of other television competitions including, participating in the BBC One programme Let’s Dance for Sport Relief and in 2014, Patrick Monahan participated in the second series of the ITV celebrity diving show Splash.

One of Patrick’s many achievements is holding the world record for the longest hug with a time of 25 hours and 25 minutes.
