A leading UK main contractor is seeking a Business Development Manager to support its operations across the West Midlands and South West. This role is focused on identifying and securing new business opportunities across public, private, and social housing construction markets.
Key Responsibilities:
Identify and develop new business leads through market research, networking, and industry events.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, developers, and public sector bodies.
Lead the preparation of proposals and presentations in collaboration with pre-construction and delivery teams.
Negotiate and close opportunities that align with strategic and commercial goals.
Maintain and report on a live sales pipeline using CRM tools.
Represent the company at relevant industry forums to enhance visibility and brand reputation.
Work cross-functionally with internal departments to ensure client needs are met.
Requirements:
Proven experience in business development within the construction sector, ideally with Tier 1 contractor background.
Strong understanding of the construction lifecycle.
Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
Results-driven and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently.
Strong negotiation and closing ability.
Flexible to travel across the region as required.
