About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of either a major project or a group of smaller schemes across the region. Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, this is a key role in the team offering career progression and exposure to high-value, complex projects.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Managing QS in the commercial management and reporting of live projects.
Take ownership of specific work packages including procurement, valuations, and change control
Produce and manage accurate applications for payment, cost reports, and CVRs.
Administer subcontractor accounts including tendering, payment assessments, and final accounts
Issue required notices and manage commercial communication in line with the form of contract (NEC or JCT)
Work collaboratively with project teams to monitor cost performance and ensure accurate record keeping
Attend and contribute to project meetings with clients and subcontractors
Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks
Contribute to mentoring and supporting junior members of the team
Requirements / Key Skills
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or similar discipline).
Chartered or working towards MRICS / MCIOB status (preferred but not essential).
Proven experience working on medium-to-large construction projects.
Strong understanding of NEC or JCT contracts.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and cost management platforms (e.g. Oracle-based systems).
Holds a valid CSCS card.
Desirable (But Not Essential)
