About the Role

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial management of either a major project or a group of smaller schemes across the region. Reporting into the Managing Quantity Surveyor, this is a key role in the team offering career progression and exposure to high-value, complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Managing QS in the commercial management and reporting of live projects.

  • Take ownership of specific work packages including procurement, valuations, and change control

  • Produce and manage accurate applications for payment, cost reports, and CVRs.

  • Administer subcontractor accounts including tendering, payment assessments, and final accounts

  • Issue required notices and manage commercial communication in line with the form of contract (NEC or JCT)

  • Work collaboratively with project teams to monitor cost performance and ensure accurate record keeping

  • Attend and contribute to project meetings with clients and subcontractors

  • Assist in identifying and mitigating commercial risks

  • Contribute to mentoring and supporting junior members of the team

Requirements / Key Skills
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying (or similar discipline).

  • Chartered or working towards MRICS / MCIOB status (preferred but not essential).

  • Proven experience working on medium-to-large construction projects.

  • Strong understanding of NEC or JCT contracts.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and cost management platforms (e.g. Oracle-based systems).

  • Holds a valid CSCS card.

  • SC Clearance
