We are seeking an experienced Technical Coordinator to join a well-established residential developer based in the West Midlands. This role would suit a candidate with apartment development experience who is confident managing technical processes across multiple projects.
The Role
The Technical Coordinator will provide essential administrative and logistical support to technical and design teams, ensuring projects progress smoothly from inception to completion. The role involves managing technical information, ensuring compliance with planning and building regulations, and acting as a key liaison between internal departments and external consultants.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Information Management: Maintain and control all technical documentation, including drawings, reports, and specifications, ensuring they are current and properly distributed.
- Coordination and Communication: Act as the central point of contact between consultants, subcontractors, and internal departments such as construction, sales, and commercial teams.
- Compliance and Approvals: Assist with preparing and submitting documents for planning and building regulation approvals, managing related conditions and requirements.
- Technical Support: Provide technical information and assistance across departments, including preparation of reports, legal documentation, and working drawings.
- Quality Control: Monitor technical standards and ensure project quality meets design specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Project Management: Strong ability to manage timelines, documentation, and deliverables to keep projects on schedule.
- Technical Aptitude: Good understanding of technical drawings, building specifications, and residential project requirements.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with confidence in liaising across multidisciplinary teams.
- Organisation: Exceptional organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to handle large volumes of documentation efficiently.
Requirements
- Experience working on residential apartment schemes (circa four storeys).
- Background in housing development or construction technical coordination.
- Knowledge of planning and building regulations.
