Our client is one of the UK’s leading Tier 1 main contractors within the Building sector. With a strong financial foundation and a robust project pipeline across the North West and the wider UK, the company continues to experience significant growth. Their North West office is expanding due to increased workload across a range of key sectors, including Commercial, Education, Healthcare, Defence, Residential, and Refurbishment.

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to deliver new build schemes up to £20 million in value, with a particular focus on projects within the Education sector.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing projects from pre-construction through to completion, including involvement in two-stage tender processes. You will take full ownership of your project, leading a team of site managers and support staff, and report directly to a visiting Contracts Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe, compliant, and well-organised site at all times

  • Lead and develop a high-performing project team, including mentoring junior staff

  • Drive progress across programme, quality, and safety objectives

  • Oversee project delivery in line with contractual requirements and company standards

  • Maintain clear communication with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders

Requirements / Key Skills

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 Main Contractor

  • Demonstrable success delivering projects within the Building sector (not other disciplines)

  • Ideally experienced in delivering new build schools or education facilities

  • Pre-construction experience desirable but not essential

  • Strong, consistent CV showing stability and career progression
