Charity Dinner Raises £3,000

Charity Evening

Edge Careers along with the group businesses for brum have made a donation to the great charity Alex’s Wish. Stuart Smith, one of our principal recruitment consultants, was humbled to be invited as guest of Morgan Sindall for a charity dinner to raise money for the great cause. Alex’s Wish was created to fund the battle against Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, a severe and progressive muscle wasting disease. Alex is 10 years old and if the disease follows its classic course it will leave him in a wheelchair by age 12 and paralysed by his teens and not live beyond his twenties. At this moment in time there is no cure, this is why Alex’s Wish was created. Their mission is to raise £1m by 2020 to get into the hands of the world’s leading scientists who have the best chance of finding a cure.

The evening managed to raise £3,000 for the charity and was supported by guest speaker and England Rugby world cup winner, Neil Back.

Morgan Sindall’s attendance at the charity dinner was only a small part of their ongoing support of Alex’s Wish, with members of the company completing a charity bike ride form London to Paris, which raised over £22,000.

Edge Careers have donated to Alex’s Wish and you can too, head to Alex’s Wish page to donate to such a great cause.

GOGGLEBOX FAVOURITES TAKE PART IN THE EDGE CAREERS CELEBRITY CHALLENGE

Gogglebox favourites support Edge Careers Celebrity T Shirt Challenge

Heidi Genner, our Residential Divisional Manager, has gained support from her Gogglebox favourites, Steph and Dom Parker in our celebrity challenge. Heidi has been a huge fan of Steph and Dom since they first appeared on our screens in 2013, and is delighted they have supported her in a bid to raise money for her charity, the Make a Wish Foundation.

Steph and Dom, aka the posh couple from Gogglebox, also starred in their own documentary and appeared in the Channel 4 show, Four in a Bed, presenting their hotel and gardens.

The boutique hotel and gardens in the sandwich area of Kent speaks for itself, and comprises the house and three cottages. Their stunning gardens are set over 3.5 acres and have a number of rare plant collections and a specialist nursery. Follow the link for a closer look www.the-salutation.com

With the competition in full swing, we think it’s fair to say that with this photo, Heidi is most certainly in the lead in winning the donation to her chosen charity, which is the Make a Wish Foundation.

There’s a new exciting competition starting for Edge Careers employees.

Edge Careers employees are tasked to get the most famous person or people to pose for a photo wearing an Edge Careers t-shirt.

Edge Careers Children in Need

Edge Careers will donate a staggering £1,000 to the charity of choice of the winning Edge Careers employee in 2016.

The competition will be kicking off today, Friday 13th November, and will conclude next year to coincide with Children in Need 2016.

Edge Careers will be scoring their employees on a points system. To explain:

  • A photo of the “celebrity” will be scored on their fame level.
  • An employee can get as many “celebrity” photos as they wish.
  • Each employee will have their points tallied up at the end of the competition, with the highest total of points being the winner.

In order to gauge “how famous” somebody is, we will judge the social media presence of the celebrity in question. So this may be a combination of Twitter followers, Facebook likes and YouTube subscribers. If somebody isn’t active on social media, but is a well-known celebrity, then other factors will be taken into consideration and an internal vote will take place to decide the score of how famous they are and a ranking will be given.

A gallery will be set up at www.edgecareers.co.uk so that you can view the “famous people” we have managed to persuade to wear the T-Shirt.
