About the role

Major tier one contractor is looking to strengthen its management team on a high rise residential project in Leeds.

To assist the site team in the management of projects through to completion; reporting to the Construction Manager.

To assist in the successful and timely completion of projects by applying the quality, health, safety, environmental, sustainability and Lean procedures of the business, whilst maintaining and improving client relationships and working with the team to achieve financial success of the project.

Responsibilities

Monitoring and implementation of Quality planning and controls to ensure project compliance with the Specification and the Quality, Health, Safety, Environmental and Sustainability Company Policies;

Preparation of KPI monitoring tools and monitoring against project programme

Management of and/or assistance to site Engineers and Finishing Foremen ensuring effective delegation of tasks (e.g. quality checks and setting out) to team members;

Methodology selection and preparation and review of Method Statements, Risk and COSHH Assessments, and permits to work;

Monitoring implementation of procedures on site and reporting non-conformance;

Manage and maintain records of work done and site activities including as built records, diaries and allocation sheets;

To carry out safety inspections and deliver Site Inductions

Managing the implementation of Test and Inspection Plans;

Managing the completion of quality documentation;

Managing the permit system;

Carrying out safety inspections, reporting and recording of near misses;

To carry out Toolbox Talks and Daily Safety / Method Briefings where appropriate;

To undertake routine supervision of all of our subcontractors and direct labour.

About You

CITB Level 3 Safety Course SMSTS (5 day);

Appropriate CSCS card;

Professional qualification (Desirable);

Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent (Desirable);

Knowledge and understanding of JCT Conditions of Contract;

First Aid at Work (4 day);

Has held a similar position with a Main Contractor for a sustained period;

Experience of working within the high rise residential sector;

A background of working on site in relevant trades or supervisory positions sufficient to give an in depth understanding of work stream processes which the individual is responsible for Managing (e.g. fit out, second fix joinery, residential)

Ability to produce, manage and report on short term programmes and objectives;

Ability to organise, chair and record weekly progress meetings with the supply chain;

Experienced in management of Engineers, Finishing Foreman, Works Managers and operatives;
