Job Title: Senior Quantity Surveyor (Client-Side | Estate & Property Portfolio)
Location: Wiltshire (multi-site estate portfolio – travel required)
Salary: £80,000 – £85,000 basic + package
We are supporting the appointment of a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a leading organisation overseeing a diverse estate and property construction portfolio across industrial, agricultural, residential and infrastructure assets.
The business manages a live pipeline of typically 3–4 concurrent projects, with individual project values of up to £7m. This is a senior commercial leadership role with responsibility for driving financial, contractual and commercial performance across a multi-site capital programme.
Role Purpose
The Senior Quantity Surveyor will provide senior commercial leadership across a multi-site estate portfolio, taking overall responsibility for cost management, contract strategy and commercial governance across a varied programme of construction and asset-related projects.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders, consultants and contractors to ensure robust commercial control, value for money and long-term commercial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead commercial strategy, procurement and contract selection across multiple live schemes
• Review, challenge and approve cost plans, valuations, variations and weekly cost/value reporting
• Lead negotiation and agreement of contracts, variations and final accounts with contractors and suppliers
• Establish and maintain commercial governance standards across all construction activity
• Manage commercial risk, identifying and mitigating financial, contractual and programme issues
• Produce and present senior-level cost, risk and value reporting to Directors and stakeholders
• Drive compliance with Health & Safety, CDM and all regulatory requirements
• Contribute to capital planning and long-term investment decision-making

Experience & Qualifications
Essential
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or related construction discipline
• Strong knowledge of CDM, construction governance, Health & Safety compliance
• Full UK Driving Licence with flexibility to travel across sites
• Experience at Managing Surveyor / Senior Commercial Lead level
• Proven experience managing multiple concurrent projects or portfolio
• Strong background in cost control, forecasting, risk management and commercial reporting
• Contract expertise including JCT Construction Management and other relevant forms
Preferred
• Client-side / in-house construction experience
• Exposure to groundworks, civils and enabling works at strategic level
• Experience supporting capital planning and investment strategy
• RICS membership or working towards
