About the Company:

Do you want to work for one of the UK’s leading Blue-Chip Tier 1 contractors, one of the most respected and successful contractors in the UK? This role will be working within their Civil Engineering business unit and will be working primarily on highways projects. All projects are negotiated and are never a ‘race to the bottom’.

They currently have a visible workload until 2022 and most of their works are repeat business from single clients.

Salary and package are negotiable for candidates who meet all the search criteria and have an excellent track record.

About the Role:

Manage the commercial resources of the assigned project to maximise planned gross margin through the placement and control of contracts and subcontracts

Provide commercial expertise to contracts, to include the production and submission of valuations, claims, budget monitoring, and contract/workstream performance data

Assess, review and mitigate commercial and contractual risks and implement Kier Group’s policies for risk management

Support the authorisation and submission of project variations. To authorise the placement of contracts, subcontracts, material and plant orders

Maximise cash flow through the control, measurement (including quality) and valuation of work, and the invoicing of customers and payment of suppliers

Value work executed by sub-contractors and certify interim and final payments.

About You:

Holds the relevant qualifications (Degree or HNC in Quantity Surveying desirable)

Experience within a similar role

Confident IT skills, proficient in the use of MS Office in particular Excel

Excellent Communication skills both written and verbally

You will have experience of working in the civil engineering contracting environment with good working knowledge and experience with the NEC form of contract. Current or previous highway experience would be a distinct advantage.
