Mechanical Quantity Surveyor – East London
The client is a Mechanical Contractor based in East London that have steadily been growing since its formation over 20 years ago and have a turnover in excess of £30M. During this time, they have been successfully carving a name for themselves in the London market. They specialise in Residential, Mixed Use and Commercial developments throughout London and the surrounding home counties and work with a mix of Developers and Main Contractors with a large proportion of their work being repeat business. Projects range in value from £4M to £20M.
Position – Mechanically bias Quantity Surveyor
The successful candidate will need to be able to run their own jobs from the offset and have a proven track record running projects with values between £4M – £7M as a minimum. You will be an experienced and qualified Surveyor with an understanding of different procurement methods used in construction and the risks associated with each.
General Duties

* Development of commercial strategy for specific projects
* Maintaining and maximising the profitability of the projects
* Timely requests for payment,
* Minimising of costs including sub-contractor, agreement of variations, securing of payments at the appropriate time and accurate reporting.
* Be responsible for and ensuring recovery of the costs/value and time associated with change from their Clients to allow agreement of final accounts
My client is more interested in your ability and experience than your qualifications. What they will look for is longevity in your employment history and projects completed that you ran alone. A mechanical background is a must and ideally you will have experience within new build, multi storey Residential builds which will have included the Shell & Core, Fit Out, infrastructure and energy centres.
