Assistant Project Manager – Fit Out – Birmingham

Due to continual growth an opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Assistant Project Manager who is keen to become part of an exciting company involved in some of the most prestigious museum and heritage projects within the UK and around the world with project values ranging up to £8million.

As Assistant Project Manager you will be responsible for assisting the Project Management team on projects within the business whilst learning the skills required of a Project Manager. You will also play a vital role in ensuring our projects are delivered on time and to a very high quality both in terms of the finished project and the service that our clients receive. An understanding / like of the museums, heritage and arts sector would be beneficial but not essential.

In your role as Assistant Project Manager you will, in no particular order:

    * Assist with the assessment of sub-contractor work packages and placement of orders.
    * Assist with the compilation of our internal reconciliation documentation for the projects.
    * Assist the PM in the regular updating of the financial reconciliation documentation.
    * Attend client meetings with PM’s and take meeting minutes.
    * Attend sites for review or assistance of site management.
    * Assist the PM in identifying and submitting variations on projects.
    * Assist the PM with the estimating of variations on projects.
    * Assist the PM with logistical management on the project.
    * Visit sub-contractor premises to manage quality.
    * Review quality of joinery items within the Hub workshop.
    * Assist the PM in the production of all project protocol documentation required per project.
    * Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure best value on orders placed.
    * Liaise with The Hub workshop production team to ensure joinery items are produced to specification and to the highest standards.
