Salary: Up to £45,000 basic plus package

We are recruiting for an Assistant Estimator to assist in the preparation and delivery of tendering and pre-construction activities. The role supports the successful setup of tenders, helping to secure future projects while contributing to cost control and maintaining strong relationships with subcontractors and internal teams.

The Assistant Estimator also assists in the development, guidance, and upskilling of team members across pre-construction and related business activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of budgets and tenders for new projects

  • Collate tender documents and track all amendments

  • Print, organise, and file all tender-related documentation

  • Review tender documents to determine project requirements

  • Undertake take-offs from drawings and tender information (manual and digital)

  • Produce Bills of Quantities

  • Issue enquiries to subcontractors

  • Collate and manage subcontractor quotations

  • Evaluate returned quotations and prepare comparison documents

  • Input and maintain cost data within Bills of Quantities

  • Assist in preparing tender submissions

  • Support handover of tender documentation to project delivery teams upon award

  • Maintain and update subcontractor databases

  • Attend site visits when required

  • Carry out general filing and administrative duties

  • Maintain control procedures in line with Integrated Management Systems (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001)

  • Uphold the organisation’s corporate image at all times

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret various technical and written information

  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Ability to work effectively to deadlines and within set timescales

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal

  • Strong organisation and time management skills

  • Full driving licence
